German tour
Now we’re home again after spending a week in Germany. It’s been very fun.
We began with Cologne. The first day there we only did some interviews, TV etc, so for once we got some hours left to check out the city. One of the things we checked was the Domen [I think that’s it’s name], an enormous church anyway. We felt like real tourists.
Next day our guitarist and keyboard player Jimmy arrived and later in the evening we played in Cologne. The day after that we play in Münster. During the day we got some hours off before sound check and then an incredible thing happened. We [maybe the least sport interested band in the world] spend half of our free time to find a TV so we could watch the Sweden-Czechoslovakia hockey game. Of course we didn’t find any TV.
Great gig in the evening where unfortunately a person faints and has to be driven to the hospital. Luckily enough she escaped with no injuries. We hope that some signed albums and posters gave her some comfort.
When Jimmy after the gig is going to the toilet, it’s occupied. After a few second a guy comes out and Jimmy steps in. When Jimmy closes the door after him he hears the guy telling his friends:
- Wow, there’s a rockstar pissing after me!
The day after that we played in Hamburg. Nice, cozy place. It was a very good German warm-up band that was called Inez who played. It was one girl who sang very well, another girl who played the transverse flute and the saxophone, and one guy who played the bass. Soft, nice and outstanding! A lot of people at the gig [even some people from Sweden]. The gig was good and the people wouldn’t let us leave. Finally we had to play 2 songs we barely know.
Next day we traveled for 9 loooong hours to Munich. Good gig and a lot of people but some bad luck with the sound system. The last gig we did on this German tour was in Berlin. After a day with wrong reservations at the hotel etc. we had a wonderful gig in the evening. Big crowd and good response. After the gig we had a good bye party together with the record label. It was a perfect ending of a great tour!
Tomorrow morning we’ll drive to Växjö and play, then we’ll continue to Gothenburg and to Borås.
Hope to see you soon!
Time to pack the bag…
